I would say it's Throwback Thursday, but this post is coming to you on Saturday. This is an oldie, but a goodie so I thought I would share. When I first started exploring Pinterest and the need to feed my inner DIY mind, I created this personalized name art for my cousin.
This project makes a great wedding, anniversary, or baby gift! I love giving personalized, meaningful gifts. This project definitely fits the bill! I found my inspiration and much more at Full of Great Ideas.
- Visit Full of Great Ideas for step-by-step directions.
- Use Microsoft Office Publisher for the template. I agree with her post. I found it helpful to know the size of my frame before getting started!
- Visit Leo Reynolds flicker site for letters and numbers. The best and lengthiest part of this project is deciding on which photos to use. I spent HOURS coming up with this combination. The time was worth it! I just love how it turned out.
- Once I had the perfect combination of letters and numbers, I sent my picture to the printers. I had it printed as a photograph and shipped right to my home.
- We re-purpose, so the picture molding was salvaged and reused. It was painted black, waxed and distressed lightly. Did you know your local hardware store cuts glass to size? Don't shy away from salvaged frames without glass. You can buy glass for a reasonable price.
- The final steps were cutting the matting to size, cleaning and assembling.
You need to give it a try. You will love the end result.
Maybe it is time for me to create another one.
Thanks for visiting!
