Our Beginning
Front - with new Windows, but before paint |
Our home was purchased this home as its tenants were evicted and the home was condemned. Believe it or not, there were live human beings living in this home prior to its sale.
The house was disgustingly perfect.
It was the house you could smell from the curb.
We met two years into the renovation. On one of our first dates, I visited our someday home. I entered the back door and could see all the way to the front of the house. There was nothing there.
Just framing top to bottom and side to side.
The "Bungalow Renovation" is quite a story and our story. There were many ups and downs. Lots of emotion and tears, but so much joy. At one point we were ordered by the city to get a permit to demolish the place. The city hadn't been out to look for quite some time...and the renovation took quite some time. We came out ahead. We were married and the house was finished.
Well, sort of finished.. Our projects continue.
We will start with some before and after shots.... More to come...I need to find more photos. Not all of them were taken in digital format. I need to go back to the old school photos for some of the early shots. Only proceed to the photos if you have a stomach for gross.

Living Room and Dining Room Before
Each piece of trim, molding, and door frame was disassembled, labeled and stored. I cleaned and refinished each piece, including the fireplace mantle. In order to get each piece back into place, each had to be cut to fit. The walls were no longer the same thickness when the plaster and lathe were replaced with drywall.
